Then there was the final straw which eventually led me to Porsche;
I was leading the Coupes des Alpes, not just the Touring category
but the GTs as well, including Porsche and Ferrari. I led the
whole way in a Lotus Cortina until the last and easiest special
stage, when the distributor (again a Lucas made) completely broke
on the way up, and my race was over.
Sometimes you just have to start fresh, which is exactly what
I did.
